Position requires 90% travel.Position Summary:
The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for supervising and participating in the electrical design, assembly, installation, and erection of equipment and structures within the electric power generation, transmission, and distribution industry. This is a hands-on role that involves both field and office duties, requiring frequent travel to various project sites.
Position Responsibilities:
•Supervise and manage electrical installation work while maintaining positive relationships with customers, contractors, engineers, and team members.
•Organize and procure tools, materials, and equipment for each project, ensuring timely return of rental equipment and tools.
•Oversee job planning, labor tracking, and identification of scope changes.
•Conduct regular project evaluations, including two-week look-ahead schedules for materials, manpower, and equipment.
•Coordinate with estimators, project managers, field supervisors, and office personnel to ensure efficient job execution.
•Assist with job projections, reporting, and support engineering teams with material take-offs and blueprint reviews.
•Enforce safety protocols and contribute to the implementation of PROENERGY’s Corporate Safety and Loss Prevention program.
•Train and develop workers on safety and installation procedures under foreman supervision.
•Manage and oversee direct-hire labor teams, ensuring quality and performance standards are met.
Required Qualifications:
•Minimum of 5 years of industrial electrical construction supervision experience.
•In-depth knowledge of electrical codes and standards applicable to power generation facilities (NEC, NFPA, IEEE, etc.).
•Proficiency in reading drawings, performing material take-offs, and reviewing as-built designs.
•Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
•Experience in reviewing drawings, providing engineering support, and performing redline reviews for as-built documentation.
•Ability to perform quantity take-offs for electrical construction materials, including conduit, cable trays, supports, wiring, and other commodities used in power plant construction.
•Strong coordination skills with other discipline leads and ability to work under pressure.
•Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Adobe/Bluebeam.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills.
•Ability to multi-task, analyze complex data, and make informed decisions.
•Strong organizational and project management skills.
•Valid state driver’s license.
•U.S. work authorization required (sponsorship not available).
•Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Physical Requirements:
•Combination of field and office work, requiring both physical activity and desk tasks.
•Sitting for extended periods while working on a computer, reviewing reports, and managing documentation.
•Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions on uneven terrain.
•Office setting for planning, reporting, and meetings.
•Field visits to power plants, substations, and job sites with exposure to noise, heat, dust, and electrical hazards.
•Adherence to strict safety protocols, including wearing PPE as required.
Travel Requirements & Location:
•Up to 90% travel to various project locations worldwide.
•Field-based, varying by project location.
