Perform advanced (senior-level) electronics technical support work. Work involves diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing electrical and electronics; test, measuring, and diagnostic instruments. Serve as a combined technical expert with leadership responsibilities to maintain a high-quality repair service and optimize team performance. Works under limited supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
A degree from a two-year college, an accredited vocational or technical school with coursework in electronic technology, or graduation from an electronics program is generally preferred. Relevant experience may be considered as a substitute for formal education.
· Serve as a working supervisor: assign, coordinate, and oversee the daily work of electronics technicians—ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and operational standards
· Inspect and approve the technical work of team members; mentor and provide coaching to ensure skill development and high-performance output.
· Plan resource allocation, adjust staffing schedules, and manage workflow priorities to meet project and production targets.
· Collaborate with HR to define role requirements; lead recruitment efforts by participating in interviewing and assessing candidates—making recommendations for hiring in line with organizational policies
· Design and deliver onboarding programs; supervise on-the-job training and mentor new hires to ensure proficiency with technical systems and company procedures
· Conduct regular performance evaluations; address developmental needs, promote deserving staff, and initiate disciplinary proceedings when required
· Serve as the primary interface between team members and HR, managing workplace concerns, grievances, and ensuring compliance with labor policies and regulations
· Environment: Workshop or laboratory setting with exposure to electronic equipment and tools.
· Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
· Schedule: Ability to work extended shifts during peak periods.
