About This Job

The Supervisor, Instrument Maintenance reports to the Superintendent, Maintenance and is responsible for the safe, efficient execution of maintenance on the site instrumentation systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

•

Manages execution of all maintenance activities on site instrumentation systems. Coordinates maintenance activities with production to minimize production loss and maximize equipment availability.

•

Drives maintenance execution efficiency through performance monitoring and management, contracting strategies, and implementation of new tools and techniques.

•

Collaborates with the training department to develop and implement employee training programs to ensure key competencies are maintained and regulatory compliance commitments are met.

•

Ensures all site instrumentation systems are maintained in accordance with Cheniere internal standards government regulations and safety standards and adequate records and documents are initiated and maintained.

•

Communicate with the Engineering Services and Process Services personnel to maintain an awareness of material quality control and installation requirements. Assures that all materials procured meet or exceed the standards set and that installation of materials is performed correctly.

•

Monitor and maintain performance benchmarks to provide continuous improvement to the execution and overall performance of site instrument maintenance personnel and contractors.

•

Participate in routine and turnaround maintenance meetings to ensure the safety and reliability of the instrumentation systems.

•

Review Maximo's work orders with direct reports for proper feedback and closeout.

•

Coordinates with Human Resources on all staffing-related activities including recruiting, interviewing, selection, hiring, discipline, development, training, promotions, salary changes, leaves, and terminations.

•

The Instrumentation Supervisor is a DOT regulated position.

•

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Knowledge:

Understanding of all facets of LNG transportation, storage, and processing, including health, safety, maintenance, operations, governmental regulations, and associated codes and standards. Extensive experience in managing and leading maintenance instrumentation craft in natural gas plants, petrochemical plants, or refineries is required. Knowledge of CMMS systems, scheduling software, and project management techniques that drive continuous improvement, execution efficiency, and schedule delivery is required.

•

Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization and with individuals and groups from different disciplines, industries, and governmental agencies.

Able to work with a culturally diverse group of technical individuals whose skills cover the range required to engineer, operate, and maintain an LNG terminal.

•

Organized with planning skills enabling management of multiple activities and programs timely and with a high degree of accuracy

•

Work deadline-oriented and understand the criticality of meeting deadlines in an operating plant environment.

•

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

•

Computer experience including Project Management, CMMS database, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

•

Education and Certifications: High School diploma or equivalent is required. Vocational training, associate degree, or equivalent is preferred.

•

Experience: Minimum of seven (7+) years of experience in an industrial environment in maintenance or operations. Recent experience with LNG is preferred; however, refining, or petrochemical industry experience is acceptable.

Instrumentation technicians (as assigned).

FREEDOM TO ACT

Performs the duties of other superintendents and supervisors on a routine basis for on-call rotation, vacations, illness, and business travel. Requires minimal supervision.

WORK CONDITIONS

•

Required to be available for standby duty on weekends and after hours.

•

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, work at height above ground on stairs and catwalks, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, or hear, smell, type, and write.

•

Must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.

•

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work indoors and outdoors and be exposed to year-round weather conditions, ocean environment, noise, and occasionally process gases and vapors.

•

Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

•

May be required to work longer than normal hours during turnaround events.

•

Credential (TWIC) card issued by the Transportation Security Administration and must maintain good standing status
