The Information Management Administrator will support the advancement of the Information Management Program at Elexicon. This will include day-to-day operations, policy implementation, training and support. This role aims for a 4-month term, during which time you will gain hands-on experience in information life cycle management and have the opportunity to participate in change management and the development of training and support materials.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Record Life Cycle Management (Retention and Disposition)
+ Assessing physical and electronic information holdings to identify materials eligible for destruction.
+ Coordinating with business units to facilitate the review and final destruction process.
Program Implementation
+ Supporting business units in applying policies and procedures to their data and information.
+ Assisting with initiatives such as digitization project management and file share clean-up.
+ Participating in creating internal process documentation for the Information Management Program.
Training and Support
+ Creating training and support resources on Information Management topics, including visual one-pagers and FAQs.
Team Collaboration
+ Collaborate with colleagues across the organization to facilitate issue resolution.
+ Participate in project work as required.
+ Other duties as assigned.
KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
+ Knowledge of records and information management principles, such as those obtained through a course of study (e.g., MI, MLIS, Records Management Certificate).
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey information management concepts to non-expert stakeholders.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a self-starter who can develop creative approaches where there is no existing blueprint.
+ Able to manage multiple projects and timelines.
+ Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
+ Enrolled in a post-secondary Diploma in records management, information management, library studies, or similar subject.
