Summary

To provide customer service to clients by scheduling inspections, researching permit information, and helping customers with general inquires.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Scheduling: Schedule all inspections, as directed by manager.

Productivity: Use each workday to be as productive as possible, scheduling inspections, notifying inspectors of the schedule, creating reports and communicating those to the city, checking permit numbers and communicating the status of inspections to other staff at Metro Code.

Quality: Ensure all inspections are scheduled in a timely manner and that permit numbers are correct and all paperwork is filed correctly at the city.

Efficiency: Manage the schedule of inspections to ensure client and city deadlines/ timelines are met.

Communication: Communicate with inspectors and the city as needed. Check in with manager and inform of any problems or issues that may impact client satisfaction. Communicate with the builders to help them become familiar with the building and inspection process.

Customer Service: Ensure clients are handled in a prompt, professional manner including adherence to Metro Code’s extraordinary customer service.

General/ Administrative: Keep spreadsheets current and do data entry as required. Other Responsibilities

Take inspection calls and schedule all inspections. Keep spreadsheets up to date at all times, reflecting what inspections have been scheduled for each inspector. Assist other members of department as needed

Create Inspector’s Inspection Reports; First Report and Full Report should reflect inspections scheduled for the current day

Email/ notify inspectors of the scheduled inspections

Enter inspection results from previous day into Excel spreadsheet • Help builders become familiar with the inspection process

Prepare blue card information and send to any/all builders who request blue card information.

Prepare meter releases and send to city on a daily basis

Check with your manager to get work options when the volume of work is too low to fill your day (example of options: data entry, receptionist support, training, department meetings, etc.)

Ensure all permit numbers are correct by checking the number against Accela

Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Outlook) Word Processing software; Internet Explorer Internet software and Bluebeam Database software.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
