Metal Fabrication Technician

Hifire is a fast-growing metal fabrication company located in Troy, MI. We offer skilled trade services to several industries in metro Detroit. Our services including welding, machining, painting and other metal working techniques. We harbor a small, close-knit team of people that all have passion and extensive experience in the industry.

We are searching for a talented Metal Fabrication Technician that is eager to exercise their trade skills with exciting projects in a custom metal fab shop.

Material preparation: saw cutting, de-burring

Guided trades work: CNC machine operation, production welding, product painting

General shop upkeep: organizing tools and shop equipment, daily cleanups, etc.

Working directly with management to complete tasks assigned.

Physical Demands: stand, walk, crouch, crawl, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Safety Requirement: Practicing safety procedures, wearing PPE, and communicating concerns with equipment to Management/HR

Basic shop arithmetic (fractions, decimals, ability to read ruler graduations, addition, subtraction, multiplication & division principles)

1+ year in a shop or manufacturing environment

Willingness to learn skilled trade techniques

Willingness to be hands on with metal products

Some welding and/or machining experience.

3+ years in a shop or manufacturing environment

Fabrication / building experience working with power tools, saw cutting, grinding, and other fabrication tools.

Up to $23/hr. depending on experience
