POSITION SUMMARY
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for executing all aspects of payroll processing for Cooper Steel. This includes ensuring accurate and timely payment of wages, compliance with all tax laws and company policies, and communication with employees regarding pay-related issues.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred
2+ years of payroll and HRIS experience and/or equivalent education and experience in job related fieldExperience with multi-state payroll preferred
Prior involvement in HRIS implementation or upgrades preferred
OTHER SKILLS
Strong analytical and organizational skills; detail oriented; ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals; self-motivated and capable of working independently within a team; good judgment and ability to handle confidential information; critical thinking; problem solving skills; strong computer skills (Excel and HRIS / payroll platforms); ability to work effectively with others; ability to adapt in a fast paced environment.
