The Position
The team of field services personnel is key to our current and future success. The successful candidate’s duties and responsibilities will include the following:
•Field commissioning and maintenance of industrial electrical systems up to 500kV in utility and industrial environments
•Operating and servicing of various industrial switchgear, circuit breakers, protection relays, transformers, and associated electrical equipment.
•Experience with transformer bushing replacements, leak repairs, tap changer maintenance and vacuum oil processing will be considered an asset.
•Class 1 drivers license will be considered an asset.
•Understanding and switching of electrical industrial distribution systems.
•Implementation of safe work processes daily and maintaining the company safety culture.
•Reading, interpreting, and troubleshooting electrical drawings. Working both within a team environment and independently.
•Interfacing with clients in a courteous and professional manner.
•Completing test sheets and reports.
•Availability to perform weekend work and occasional out-of-town travel.
•Safely operating mobile equipment.
•Identifying and providing feedback on process improvements.
The Qualifications and Skills
•Degree, Diploma or Certificate in a relevant post-secondary education.
•Minimum 3 years of experience.
•Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office.
•General knowledge of electrical test equipment and its software.
•General knowledge of electrical apparatuses and their function/operation.
•Valid class 5 driver license.
•Self-motivated, self-managed, flexible, and driven.
•Excellent time management skills with attention to detail.
•Permit to legally work in Canada.
•Manufacturer or equipment certifications will be considered an asset.
•Class 1 drivers license will be considered an asset.
