Production Lead Person

Job Summary:

Directs a group of employees to produce high quality structural steel materials in a productive and efficient manner with minimal assistance and instruction.

Essential Job Functions

1. Plan and coordinate the workload of team members in order to maximize productivity and quality.

2. Assist in the training and upgrading of the skills of every team member.

3. Communicate effectively to give accurate and precise instructions to employees.

4. Supply technical information, tooling or other assistance to ensure that employees are able to continue working rather than seeking assistance elsewhere.

5. Report disruptive behavior on the part of any team member to the supervisor so that corrective action may be taken.

6. Perform production duties when all team members are working efficiently.

7. Prepare plots, templates, table set-ups, and fixtures to aid in lay-out and assembly of complex weldments.

8. Inspect work of others in team. Document on proper forms.

9. Read, write and communicate effectively in the English language.

10. Accept and follow directions correctly.

11. Set example for working safely and recognizing unsafe acts.

12. Must maintain exceptional attendance to work.

13. Perform other duties as required by management.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Required: Two or more years experience in all aspects of manufacturing in the steel fabrication industry. Must be able to read and interpret detailed shop drawings. Must be able to lift minimum of 50 lbs. over shoulder height frequently. Must have vision correctable to at least 20/20 in one eye. Must be able to read numbers, letters, and a dial face clock. Must have basic mathematic aptitude.

Preferred: High school education or equivalent. Five or more years work experience.
