Regional Operations Manager - East Coast

About This Job

Key Areas of Responsibility

Safety & Compliance

•

Implement and support the Company's Health, Safety, Environment and Risk Management systems and associated policies and procedures as advised by the Shared Services Group

•

Ensure that all compliance reporting requirements are met

•

Ensure that the site is running within EDL Health and Safety regulations and policy

•

Understand all safety and emergency procedures associated with the equipment and the site

•

Report incidents using the SAM system and follow through with investigation reporting

Profitability

•

With the support of the Shared Services group, manage the operations budget and monitor the financial health of the business unit

•

Through the effective deployment of operations and maintenance planning and resources, meet and, where possible, exceed targets for production and revenue for all power stations

•

Ensure that the provision of services to customers is as per agreements and contracts. Liaise regularly with those customers to maintain positive and functional relationships as the Company's representative

•

Support bottom-up budget process for annual generation and cost budgets

•

Create and Implement capital budgets, develop the five-year medium-term plan forecasts

Reliability

•

Engage proactively with landfill partners on ensuring focus on gas capture and quality

•

Ensure power station is running at full potential and maintain direct operating costs

•

Manage power station, gas engines and associated plant and gas equipment

•

Perform regular quality inspections of fixed plant, engines, and associated equipment

•

Oversee scheduling of daily activities in line with plant maintenance tasks lists

SPIRIT / Leadership

•

Manage locations and employees within assigned region

•

Responsible to monitor the site employee(s) performance, hours, and overtime

•

Direct site meetings as required (operations and safety meetings)

•

Always communicate to the customers/clients in a friendly and constructive manner

•

Ensure quality of work activities and consistency across the region

•

Any other duties appropriate to the level and responsibility of the position as required

Person Specification

•

Ability to lead, performance manage and develop the operations team

•

Able to work under pressure and maintain professionalism

•

Must be flexible and have high capacity for changing work environment

•

Good organization skills with the ability to prioritize and execute

•

Accept and make recommendations for improvements

•

Communicate accurately and truthfully with employees, supervisors, and managers.

•

High level of analytical and trouble shooting skills in generation plant, gas plant and gas field

•

Proficient using computers and monitoring equipment

•

Ability to work autonomously in a multi-skilled work team environment

•

Reliable, committed and motivated to achieving Company and team goals and objectives

•

Ability to collaborate with resources and individuals across a global business

•

Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time, which can vary based on needs of the business

•

Must be willing and able to participate in evening meetings/conference calls

Qualifications and Experience

•

Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, Civil, Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering. (preferred)

•

2-5 years of operational leadership experience in landfill gas to power, renewable natural gas, or natural gas refining

•

Experience with diesel/gas engines or power plants

•

Understanding of mechanical and/or electrical principles associated with power plants/engines

•

Experience with setting and adhering to site budgets and understanding of basic accounting principles

•

Experience with setting site maintenance schedules, preferably with both gas field, gas plant and engines

•

Experience adhering to Health and safety responsibilities and requirements

•

Experience with environmental and site compliance regulations
