The Senior Area Manager’s Primary responsibility is to manage the projects performance and reports directly to the General Manager in all matters related to the project(s). Create a vision of project success through the company’s continuous improvement initiatives; empower and motivate the Field Supervisors to achieve the vision. The Senior Area Manager represents Heath Consultants in meetings and communications with our customers. Span of control will be no more than 5 Area Managers or by geographic area.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A REMOTE ROLE WITH 50-70% TRAVEL EXPECTED TO PROJECT SITES AND DISTRICT OFFICES.

IDEALLY TARGETING CANDIDATES BASED OUT OF ARIZONA, BUT OPEN TO OTHER AREAS IN THE WESTERN UNITED STATES.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership

•

The Senior Area Manager leads by example and proactively supports Area Managers and Field Supervisors through direct management to ensure company and client expectations are exceeded.

•

Set and communicate daily goals and expectations to their team.

•

Promoting engagement of Area Managers and Field Supervisors.

•

Direct company safety and quality standards by reviewing monthly Observations, 360 assessments, and monthly KPI’s within Power BI.

•

Reviews investigations, root cause analysis findings and oversees corrective actions taken by the Managers, then updates the General Manager.

•

Champion the corporate service standards and specifications.

•

Analyze and act on daily project performance.

•

Challenge the status quo, promote a proactive resolution, and endeavor to succeed. Instill this philosophy into their Area Managers and Supervisors.

•

Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the Regional Manager.

Support

•

Ensures daily performance

•

Manages the integrity of field technicians employment life cycle: interviewing applicants, hiring, coaching, disciplining, and discharging.

Coaching and Development

•

Mentoring of the Area Managers and Field Supervisors to improve their knowledge, skills, and professional growth.

•

Teach lean principles to continuously improve Project(s) performance.

•

Lead a weekly Area Manager meeting with their Field Supervisors: Discuss safety, quality, team performance and recognition, and set weekly goals

•

Participate Monthly in weekly tailgate meetings: discuss safety, quality, team performance, set weekly goals, employee recognition, hand out supplies.

•

Observation 360 –At least 1 ride along per quarter on a Field Supervisor. 1 personal efficiency improvement initiative per month and 1 area efficiency improvement initiative. Review and discuss team efficiency improvement initiatives.

Client Relations

•

Act as the primary point of contact with the client regarding all operational matters dealing with the projects.

•

Meet with the Client as required to maintain customer relations and discuss changes to the operating procedures to promote open communications.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE:

•

High school diploma or equivalent is required, some college course work is required or equivalent work experience, bachelor’s degree preferred

•

5 to 7 years of utility industry experience is REQUIRED

•

5 to 7 years of managerial experience preferred.

•

2+ years of experience as an Area Manager, Operations Manager, or similar level role

•

Experience with rolling out software solutions is a plus.

•

Gas Leak Survey, Meter Reading and Damage Prevention experience preferred.

•

Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required, specifically in Excel and Word.

•

Familiarity with OneDrive and Office 365.

•

Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities are required.

•

Strong oral and written communication skills are required.

•

The ability to analyze and interpret data is required.

•

Obtain a Lean Six Sigma white belt and lean certificate of achievement within the first 6 months.

SALARY RANGE: $120,000 - $140,000

plus annual bonus potential, car allowance, and benefits
