3+ Years Window Restoration Technician Needed

Job Responsibilities

Shop Responsibilities:

· Labeling, cataloging and material handling of historic windows and doors

· Deglazing historic windows

· Epoxy consolidation repairs

· Carpentry and dutchmen repairs

· Sanding and surface preparation for new finishes

· Glass cutting and glazing/bedding

· Masking for paint

· Application of paint, stain and varnish

· Hardware repair, paint removal and installation

· Weatherstripping installation

· Screen construction and re-screening

· Demasking and shop preparation of restored material for site installation

Field Responsibilities:

· Window sash, door and trim removal and installation

· Labeling, cataloging and material handling of historic windows and doors

· Epoxy consolidation repairs

· Carpentry and dutchmen repairs

· Sanding and surface preparation for new finishes

· Application of paint, stain and varnish

· Measuring and installation of flashings

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

· Basic carpentry skills and tools

· Attention to detail in retention of historic details, profiles and architectural elements

· Familiarity with restoration standards as provided by project architect and Secretary of the Interior’s Standards

· Safe work practices around lead-based paint and asbestos containing materials (training provided)

· Ability to work in diverse site conditions including scaffolding, ladders, and boom lifts

· Timberline/Sage a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
