Who Are We?

Job Description:

The Accounting Analyst is responsible for maintaining an effective framework to measure financial and operating performance at Cripple Creek and Victor Gold Mine operations. In addition, the Accounting Analyst will prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and other related tasks. The Analyst will also be involved in the preparation of accurate, timely analysis to support monthly performance reviews and decision making. The Accounting Analyst will work closely with site management to develop and monitor key performance indicators.

Responsibilities and Duties

•

Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.

•

Conduct month-end, quarter-end and annual close activities from the business analysis end to ensure all tasks are completed on time according to the corporate reporting schedule.

•

Help develop and maintain an integrated, multi department reporting framework to measure financial and operational performance.

•

Work with other staff to communicate and support the month end close activities, management of fixed assets, account reconciliations, maintenance cost analysis, and ability to work with stakeholders for financial reviews.

•

Account reconciliation according to accounting policy.

•

Work closely with the Senior Analyst with respect to the monthly accounting cycle

•

Prepare, analyze, and present monthly reports evaluating financial, operational, and project performance.

•

Ensure operations are in compliance with internal policies and controls

•

Ensure the smooth running of the day-to-day mine accounting responsibilities and resolve any queries as they arise.

•

Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans.

•

Other related duties and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications and Experience

•

1–3 years of relevant accounting experience (internships may be considered).

•

Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP).

•

Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

•

Demonstrated excel and reporting skills.

•

SAP and/or OneStream experience is an asset

•

Able to work autonomously with little direct supervision.

•

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

•

CPA or CMA preferred but not required. Mining experience is a bonus.

•

Comfortable working a flexible schedule at mining operation.

•

Ability to be onsite during the work week.

Work Environment

•

Office-based at mine site near Cripple Creek.

•

Standard business hours, with occasional overtime during close periods.
