As an Accounting Specialist, you will under direct supervision, be responsible for obtaining and organizing accounting data in order to timely and accurately prepare compliance reports associated with renewable fuels production. Monitor for changes in regulations and new programs. Perform accounting close duties. Perform accounting and analysis for special projects as assigned.

•

Prepare and timely post the daily batch production and consumption for DGD renewable products.

•

Performs month-end close duties to ensure accurate batch reporting for tracking green attributes of the renewable products.

•

Assist with generating submissions of Renewable Identification Number as part of the U.S. EPA’s Renewable Fuel Standard requirements for renewable fuel producers.

•

Perform accounting and reporting functions for Valero’s business activity including close duties, analysis, and reporting.

•

Effectively coordinate and collaborate with various internal departments to include: Fuel Compliance, Marketing, Tax, and Operations in order to obtain data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

•

Prepare and provide data for various Low Carbon Fuel program audits such as Renewable Fuel Standard, Low Carbon Fuel Standard, Book and Claim programs.

•

Assist with special projects for management or create ad hoc reports as needed

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

•

High School Diploma or GED required.

•

5 years of Accounting experience required.

•

Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio location, required.

Preferred Requirements:

•

Bachelor’s or higher-level degree - Accounting preferred

•

Working knowledge of SAP preferred

•

Knowledge of billing requirements and inventory management in the energy industry preferred

•

CPA is preferred

Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
