Job Summary:

Just Energy is seeking candidates for a Business Analyst in our Houston, TX office. This position is responsible for maintaining and enhancing Excel and SQL models to support retail pricing decisions, ensuring profitability by accurately costing and pricing across all markets. By monitoring sales, renewals, and retention offers, and by strategically developing innovative MassMarket product offerings, the Business Analyst contributes to Just Energy’s profitable growth in North American electricity and natural gas markets.

This position requires critical-thinking and creative problem-solving skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and a customer-service mindset.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

•

Maintain / troubleshoot MassMarket pricing and analytical models in Excel/SQL

•

Work closely with Modelers and Pricing team to ensure the calculation logic is accurately reflected in various automated pricing engines, and validate cashflow and gross margin calculation for new product offering

•

Assist in quantitative analysis to closely track customer behavior and market trends

•

Interact with Sales, Supply, Load Forecasting, IT, and Risk (as needed) on in-depth cross functional investigation or research projects

•

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

•

Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative analysis or related field

•

Excellent analytical skills

•

Strong Excel modelling and VBA skills, and Fluent in SQL querying / development

•

Experience with retail energy pricing or analytics is a plus

•

Strong business acumen, attention to detail, problem solving skills, and data-driven decision making capabilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills

•

Must be well-organized and comfortable working in a fast-paced work environment
