Job Overview

Blackstar Diversified Enterprises is looking for an enthusiastic and personable Business Development Manager to help grow our Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), roadway, and electrical distribution business across Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas and Alabama. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate (within the last 5 years) with a degree in business, sales, marketing, communications, engineering, or a related field who is eager to learn, connect with community leaders, and be part of the smart infrastructure movement.

You’ll represent forward-thinking brands, helping city, state and federal agencies modernize how people and goods move through their communities.


What You’ll Do


Build Relationships

Meet with decision-makers at cities, parishes, counties and state agencies—often in person—to introduce Blackstar and the cutting-edge solutions we represent.

Be present and available: check in, offer insights, and build trust as a go-to resource.
Share ideas and solutions that improve traffic safety, efficiency, and infrastructure reliability.


Learn & Represent Industry-Leading Products

Get hands-on with innovative tech like autonomous traffic management, radar feedback systems and 2 phase cooling.
Deliver on-site product demos and explain the benefits in clear, helpful terms.


Sales & Territory Development

Develop and follow a strategic plan to expand our customer base across Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas and Alabama.
Generate leads by networking, attending industry events, and following up on inquiries.
Prepare tailored proposals and support the customer throughout the sales process.


Collaborate & Grow

Work alongside a supportive internal team—marketing, technical support, and leadership—to sharpen your skills and drive results.
Bring fresh ideas to the table and contribute to a fast-moving, purpose-driven company.

Graduated within the last 5 years with a degree in business, communications, marketing, sales, engineering, or similar fields.

Natural people skills—you’re confident starting conversations, asking questions, and building trust.
A genuine interest in technology, smart infrastructure, or transportation solutions.
A proactive mindset—you like setting goals and figuring out how to hit them.
A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout Louisiana and Mississippi (monthly), with limited travel to Arkansas and Alabama.
Located in the areas of Hattiesburg to Jackson Mississippi

Sales experience is not required, but internships, campus leadership, or part-time work where you practiced customer engagement, teamwork, or presentations is a plus.
