CREDIT & CUSTOMER SERVICE CLERK
PART-TIME (30-37.5 Hours Weekly)
Reporting to the Supervisor of Customer Service, the main responsibilities of this position include:
•Primary contact to complete phone inquiries, and overflow contact for walk-in customer requests for moves, reconnections, meter changes, etc., and effectively resolve complex customer account issues and credit arrangements, in accordance with Company policy, procedures, and legislative requirements.
•Prepare service orders such as for moves, meter changes, vacancies with consumption accounts, service spots, underground locates, etc.
•Prepare letters of credit, reference, and bankruptcies, and liaise with credit bureau, lawyers, and other outside agencies.
•Produce reminder and disconnect notices and lists, determine credit arrangements for delinquent accounts, coordinate with outside service representatives, and follow up on overdue finals and transfers.
•Initiate operations work orders as required.
•Balance and post payments in accordance with Company policies and procedures for payment of accounts. Maintain deposit records including refund or transferring of deposits.
•Promote and maintain various customer payment practices.
•Operate business machines such as but not limited to copiers, fax, collator/inserter, interact terminal, and postage machines.
•Participate in training.
•Perform other customer service duties as required.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
•Completion of post secondaryeducation in Social Sciences, Business Administration, or in a related discipline.
•Five (5) years’ experience in a customer service-related position.
•Demonstrated ability to perform mathematical calculations.
•Highly proficient in MS Office; experience in SAP would be an asset.
•Able to work under pressure and requires good judgment and tact to obtain customer credit cooperation.
•Ability to effectively co-ordinate work with others in the duties assigned.
•Requires initiative to carry out the work assigned with minimal supervision.
•Excellent communication skills in both English (spoken and written) and French (spoken).
•Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills including the ability to build successful working relationships.
•Must hold and maintain a valid Ontario “G” license with a clean driving abstract.
