Job Requirements – Oil & Gas HSE Professional
Education & Certifications
•
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
•
Professional certifications (preferred or required depending on seniority), such as:
•
OSHA 30-hour or 40-hour certification
•
Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
•
Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
•
HAZWOPER certification
•
First Aid/CPR/AED
Experience
•
Minimum of 3–5 years of HSE experience in the oil & gas industry (drilling, upstream, midstream, or downstream)
•
Proven experience conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations
•
Familiarity with environmental compliance reporting (e.g., EPA, DOT, state regulations)
Skills & Knowledge
•
In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other relevant federal and state regulations
•
Strong understanding of safety management systems (SMS), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Permit to Work (PTW) systems
•
Ability to develop and deliver HSE training programs
•
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Other Requirements
•
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
•
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in high-risk environments
•
Willingness to travel to field sites (may include remote locations)
•
Valid driver's license
•
Physical ability to conduct field inspections in challenging conditions (climbing ladders, uneven ground, PPE use)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
