Job Overview

Sours Home Improvements Inc. is a Licensed Class A Contracting company based out of Waynesboro, VA. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various carpentry tasks and the ability to lead a team effectively. This role requires expertise in cabinet installation, frame carpentry, and fixture installation, among other skills. As a Lead Carpenter, you will be responsible for overseeing projects from start to finish while ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards. We provide all the essential tools and trucks.

This is a full-time role, requiring a 40-hour work week from Monday to Friday. Pay is based on experience.

Responsibilities

•

Supervise and coordinate carpentry projects, ensuring timely completion and quality standards are met.

•

Must have at least 8years experience as a lead carpenter or in construction.

•

Perform trim carpentry, drywall and frame carpentry tasks in a proficient manner.

•

Utilize power tools and equipment safely and efficiently for various construction tasks.

•

Assemble structures and fixtures according to specifications and blueprints.

•

Collaborate with other trades such as electrical and masonry to ensure seamless project execution.

•

Conduct regular inspections of work sites to maintain safety protocols and quality control.

•

Train and mentor junior carpenters, providing guidance on techniques and best practices.

•

Manage heavy lifting tasks while ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.

Qualifications

•

Proven experience as a carpenter with a strong portfolio of completed projects.

•

Proficiency in cabinet installation, trim carpentry, frame carpentry, fixture installation, and masonry work is preferred.

•

Familiarity with electrical systems is a plus but not mandatory.

•

Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively.

•

Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.

•

Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and project coordination.

•

Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job duties.

•

A valid driver's license may be required for travel between job sites.
