Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and project management, with the ability to negotiate contracts effectively. This role is crucial in ensuring that projects are completed within budget and on schedule while maintaining high-quality standards. The Lead Estimator will work closely with other estimators, project managers, contractors, and clients to provide accurate cost assessments and estimates for various construction projects.

Responsibilities

•

Track incoming leads and ensure good communication with clients.

•

Prepare bids in a timely fashion and send to clients for review.

•

Follow up with clients to ensure that bids have been received and all required information has been presented so that clients can make decisions.

•

Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on blueprints, specifications, and site visits.

•

Analyze project requirements and develop comprehensive bid proposals that include labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.

•

Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate pricing and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.

•

Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.

•

Conduct regular site visits to assess project progress and identify any potential issues that may impact costs or timelines.

•

Utilize construction estimating software, such as STACK (on-screen takeoff software) to create precise estimates and maintain organized documentation.

•

Utilize company CRM Software (JOBNIMBUS) to track leads and manage workflows.

•

Monitor changes in project scope and adjust estimates accordingly to reflect any modifications or unforeseen circumstances.

•

Provide support during the bidding process by preparing bid documents and presenting estimates to clients.

Experience

•

Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry is required.

•

Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.

•

Familiarity with cost control methods and techniques related to construction projects.

•

Proficiency in using STACK or similar estimating software is preferred.

•

Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract negotiations.

•

Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.

•

Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in all aspects of estimating work.
