Summary
This position will be responsible for providing project management and technical support for the interconnection of Distributed Energy Resources and other DG technology. This includes the development of programs and validation of effectiveness through root cause analysis, data analytics and consideration of operational experience. This position will stay informed on current processes and procedures for the safe and reliable interconnection of Distributed Energy Resources and other DG technology and lead efforts to meet all related standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Other duties may be assigned. Directly or through others, the incumbent will:
•Work with Planning and Operations to develop and manage the interconnection process to continuously improve system reliability
•Track and provide technical support in the root cause analysis of adverse events impacting reliability
•Collect customer requirements, determine technical issues and design projects to meet their needs
•Research and evaluate new products, applications, tools to promote efficiency of the Distributed Generation group and our customers
•Perform data analysis to set direction and assess impact of Distributed Generation technology
•Find innovative ways of improving process efficiencies as well as assist in improving existing workflows
•Work with representatives from Planning and Operations to prepare documentation for regulatory requirements
•Represent Oncor in industry organizations
•Provide legal and regulatory support as needed
•Performs all essential functions and aspects of the job including any other duties as assigned
Education, Experience, & Skills
Tech Specialist I
•High school diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
•Bachelor’s degree in sciences or technology is preferred. 10 years of relevant experience may be considered in place of this.
•Minimum 2 years of relevant experience preferred. Relevant experience may include project management, design, planning and operation of transmission and/or distribution facilities and/or business analytics.
Tech Specialist II
•High school diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
•Bachelor’s degree in sciences or technology is preferred. 10 years of relevant experience may be considered in place of this.
•Minimum 4 years of relevant experience preferred. Relevant experience may include project management, design, planning and operation of transmission and/or distribution facilities and/or business analytics.
Tech Specialist III
•High school diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
•Bachelor’s degree in sciences or technology is preferred. 10 years of relevant experience may be considered in place of this.
•Minimum 6 years of relevant experience preferred. Relevant experience may include project management, design, operation and planning of transmission and/or distribution facilities and/or business analytics.

•Demonstrate ownership of projects and high level of knowledge in multiple relevant areas of focus within Oncor
•Ability to work independently and on a team
•Knowledge of electric Transmission or Distribution infrastructure preferred
