Responsibilities

We seek an experienced and dedicated Technical Training Specialist to develop, manage, and continuously improve our nationwide training program for field service technicians and subcontractors. This role will be based at our HQ but will require travel to field locations nationwide for on-location training, evaluations, and support. The Trainer will ensure our field service teams are well-prepared with the knowledge and technical expertise needed to perform effective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of our generators. This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to align training programs with evolving product offerings and industry standards.

Develop, update, and maintain training materials and curriculum for the Field Service Technician program, ensuring all content is aligned with company objectives, new product launches, and evolving industry standards. This includes developing both in-office training modules and on-site technical guides.
Lead the onboarding of new field service technicians, providing initial training, certification, and ongoing support to ensure competence in technical procedures, safety standards, and troubleshooting.
Travel nationwide to provide hands-on training to field service technicians, ensuring real-time guidance and troubleshooting support. Conduct assessments of technician proficiency through practical demonstrations and field evaluations to identify areas for improvement.
Evaluate and improve training programs based on feedback, field performance, and technical advances. Lead the implementation of continuous learning efforts to enhance skills across the team, including integrating new products and technologies.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product Management, Customer Success, and Support, to ensure training programs meet business and customer requirements. Regularly communicate the training program's impact and success to key stakeholders.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the training program, using key performance indicators (KPIs) and feedback to optimize training delivery. Provide monthly reports on the program's health, including technician progress and content updates.
Ensure all training and procedures adhere to company safety standards and regulatory requirements. Foster a safety culture among the field service technicians, emphasizing best practices in safety and quality assurance.
Manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality content. Coordinate the scheduling of training sessions, resources, and assessments, ensuring a smooth and effective process.


Qualifications


Education & Experience:

+ Bachelor's degree in a technical field or related discipline, related talent industry experience. + Proven experience in a similar role, such as technical training, service management, or a field service leadership position. + 3+ years of experience in training and curriculum development, ideally within a technical field or IoT devices. + Knowledge of generators or related electrical and mechanical systems, with hands-on experience in troubleshooting and maintenance. + Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and content development tools (e.g., Google Suite).

Skills & Qualifications:

+ Strong technical communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts concisely and effectively. + Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives, deadlines, and stakeholders. + Demonstrated success in designing and delivering successful training programs, including virtual and in-person formats. + Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Customer Success, Support, etc.). + Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to track and report on training progress. + Ability to travel up to 25% of the time for on-site training and field evaluations.

The Bay Area salary for this role is $110k-$135k base + pre-IPO stock options + benefits. This position is on-site in Menlo Park, CA. The salary will be adjusted based on the experience of the employee.

The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise. New hires joining the company tend to be paid within the starting base pay range noted above, with opportunities to increase pay over time based on development of additional skills, competencies, and company-specific knowledge.
