Orla operates the Camino Rojo Oxide Gold Mine, a gold and silver open-pit heap leach mine, located in Zacatecas State, Central Mexico. This low-cost operation is 100% owned by Orla, covers over 139,000 hectares, and includes a large sulphide mineral endowment located beneath the oxide resources. We are also advancing permitting on our South Railroad Project, a feasibility-stage, open-pit heap leach project located on the prolific Carlin trend in Nevada.

More recently, we’ve entered into an agreement with Newmont Corporation to acquire the Musselwhite Mine, located in Northern Ontario on Lake Opapimiskan. This project has great potential in a tier-one mining jurisdiction, and with more than 25 years of proven track record. This fly-in, fly-out operation will position Orla to double its annual gold production and provide us with excellent future opportunities. We expect this transaction to close in Q1 2025.

Purpose:

As part of our acquisition of the Musselwhite Mine, we are recruiting for an Field Services Technology Analyst within the site Technology Department. This is an onsite role that will be responsible for support and maintenance of all the leaky feeder technology systems to ensure consistent radio communications and tracking throughout the surface and underground. Ensuring adequate communication standards, compliances, and system expansions as the mine expands. This role will report to the Site Technology Superintendent and will be key to the success of the Technology department.

Responsibilities include:

The role will have responsibility to:

Provide day to day technical support on services relating to operational technology, data systems, tracking systems & leaky feeder and radio.

Manage relationships with service providers, field engineers, electrical, and operations.
Support regulatory and corporate compliance initiatives as they pertain to information and content assets.
Provide support for infrastructure leaky feeder, radio system, network, and remote devices.
Ensure availability of two-way radio communication service in our operational area.
Provide level 1 and 2 system support for incidents and provide resolution, where appropriate escalate to the supervisor.
Execute change for field technology services and related equipment
Enhance, expand and advance radio system communications throughout the mine.
Tracks related technology issues, coordinates resolution and assists in driving issues to closure
Configure and activate additional services on two-way radio system, fleet system, Telemetry, Tele-Remote and GPS Augmentation.
Facilitate and if required install and configure equipment requests
Asset Management, weekly communication checks, updating of documentation and diagrams of PBE systems.
Ensure all necessary safety procedures are followed during technology support.
Ensure equipment inventory and design documentation is always updated.
Become familiar with and strictly adhere to Newmont’s Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
Adhere to company Occupational Health and Safety policy and procedures
Consistently demonstrate and encourage safe work practices.
Exposed to different weather elements, working at heights and interact with Heavy/light equipment daily at the field.

Skills and Experience:

Diploma or Degree, preferred in Computer Science/ Engineering, Electrical, Technologist, Mechanic or related.
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in technology or communication related support, projects and or innovation roles.
Certified Fiber Optic Training to be able to efficiently splice fiber optic cables and expand network.
Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with vendors, service providers, colleagues, clients, and customers at all levels.
Broad knowledge of all technology considerations (performance, scalability, maintainability, deployment, operations, technology infrastructure)
Skilled in troubleshooting, understanding communication concepts, problem solving and solution based outcomes in network and leaky feeder.
Valid "G" drivers license
Prior mining or industrial experience is required.


Working Conditions

The schedule is 14x14, working 12-hour days.
