Job Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Clerk to join our company. This is a temporary position (1-year contract) to fill in for another employee on maternity leave. This role plays a vital part in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to ensuring the integrity of financial data and the smooth functioning of our financial processes.

Duties

•

Process accounts payable invoices

•

Review invoices for completeness and consistency

•

Prepare bank deposits.

•

Reconcile accounts payable ledger to ensure that accounts are accounted for properly.

•

Process payments in a timely manner and follow up with clients to ensure payments were received.

•

Monitoring daily communications and answering any queries.

•

Ensuring payments, amounts and records are correct.

•

Working with journals.

•

Recording and filing cash transactions.

•

Controlling credit and chasing debt.

•

Invoice processing and filing.

•

Processing expense requests for the supervisor to approve.

•

Bank reconciliation.

•

Liaising with third party providers, clients, and suppliers.

Experience/Qualification/Education:

•

Minimum 3 years experience in an accounting role.

•

Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and relevant financial data.

•

Proven ability to use office equipment (e.g., photocopier/scanner) and computer software.

•

Strong attention to detail, organizational and multi-tasking skills.

•

Problem-solving skills along with an ability to prioritize tasks are required by the position.

•

accounting diploma is a minimum.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 11 months

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
