About This Job

Established Central Coast area general contractor seeking motivated, professional, and career minded Construction Superintendent for our Santa Barbara and Ventura locations.

The Superintendent serves our company and client as the direct day to day operator of the project. Superintendents are primarily single project positions with multiple assignments from time to time depending on location, size, and complexity of the project(s). The Superintendent will be supported by an assigned Project Manager and will report to the Operations Manager.

Job Duties include, but not limited to:

•

First point of contact for project and client contract at the project site.

•

Planning and maintaining safe work sites and compliance with company safety program.

•

Long and short interval scheduling, work and subcontractor coordination, work flow, and jobsite harmony.

•

First eye on quality work, quality assurance planning and quality control, RFI documentation, submittal management, and constructing the work in accordance with the plan documents and contract.

•

Coordination of agency and third-party inspectors.

•

Site logistics and coordinating general requirements of the project.

•

Work closely with project managers and other staff to identify and solve problems

•

Ensure project is completed on schedule, within budget and with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications

•

Coordinate and supervise all construction activities

•

Document daily work activities and changes, when and if they occur.

•

Tactful and professional attitude and dealings at all times.

Superintendent Requirements:

•

5-10 years’ experience in commercial construction or equivalent work in the position of Superintendent.

•

Higher education and/or 4-year degree in construction management, engineering, or related disciplines a plus.

•

Strong task manager and ability to work without constant supervision.

•

ü Ability to read and understand construction plans, contracts, and specifications.

•

Technical trade understanding, understanding building codes, and knowledge of trade sequencing.

•

Strong communicator, oral and written.

•

Must be a team player and possess the desire to serve the company and its clients.

•

Must possess basic computer skills with proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and

•

Microsoft Word. Knowledge of Bluebeam, Primavera P6, and Procore is a plus.

•

Preference will be given to Superintendent candidates who not only possess verifiable commercial construction experience, but strong preference to any candidate with past performance in the construction of mixed use residential, multifamily residential, and similar experience.

Annual Salary Range: $115k- $135k. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, locations and other factors permitted by law.
