Job Description: Landman (Biomass Energy)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Landman to join our team in the Biomass Energy industry. As a Landman, you will be responsible for researching, analyzing, and negotiating land agreements related to biomass energy projects. This role will primarily be based in Akhiok, Alaska.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research on potential land acquisitions, including ownership information, surface and mineral rights, and legal restrictions.
- Analyze the suitability of land for biomass energy projects, considering factors such as proximity to fuel sources, transportation infrastructure, and environmental considerations.
- Negotiate and secure lease agreements, easements, and other land-related contracts, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with legal, environmental, and engineering teams to assess and resolve any land-related issues or disputes.
- Maintain accurate records of land ownership, lease agreements, and other relevant documentation.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes that may impact land agreements and biomass energy projects.
- Develop and maintain relationships with landowners, government authorities, and other stakeholders involved in biomass energy projects.
- Assist in the evaluation and due diligence of potential sites for biomass energy facilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Environmental Science, Geology, or Land Management.
- Prior experience in land acquisition, land management, or similar roles in the energy industry is preferred.
- Familiarity with land surveying, legal documentation, and land title research.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations related to land acquisition and energy development.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently manage multiple projects.
- Proficient in using industry-specific software and tools.
Salary Range:
The salary for this position will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience level. The salary range for this role is competitive within the industry standards and will be offered as an annual salary.
