Summary

The Marine Production Control Coordinator position directs a wide variety of manufacturing engineering, CSR, planning and QC activities to develop and improve standards for industrial processes, materials and products to assure all customer requirements are met in a cost-efficient manner.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Safety – Eliminate hazards through sound engineering practices.
Creation and maintenance of routings, procedures and other quality documentation to ensure compliance with applicable specifications.
Perform all quality functions for the Marine operations including but not limited to; the creation and storage of all quality documentation packages, performing source inspections, material review reports, corrective actions and RMAs.
Perform all planning activities for the Marine operations including but not limited to; cutting jobs, issuing materials, cycle count investigation and closing jobs.
Develop and maintain yearly MS Project schedules for bi-weekly reviews with Marine customer.
Investigate and troubleshoot process complications as they occur and take necessary corrective actions. Confers with Design Engineering to assure designs fit the best manufacturing processes. Request engineering changes to maintain product quality and to ensure compliance with applicable specifications.
Investigate, qualify and approve outside vendors supplying raw materials, subcontract machining, tooling, fixtures and other processes as necessary.
Operate computer aided design equipment to design and develop tooling and fixtures.
Work closely with Marine Products Manager to assure compliance with company standards. Confer with other manufacturing engineers to share knowledge and corrective actions to enhance/improve overall company quality and profitability.
Liaise with Marine personnel regarding required tooling and / or floor stock hardware. Identify such needs and submit requisitions for approval.

Education And/or Experience

Associates degree in Engineering or related field.
5+ years of manufacturing related experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determinations of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis


Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in shop floor work areas can occasionally be loud.
