Western Energy is hiring a Operations Manager, Production Services to join our team in our Blackfalds location!

Western Energy Services Corp. (Corporate) is an oilfield service company which provides contract drilling services through Horizon Drilling in Canada and Stoneham Drilling Corporation in the United States. In addition, Western provides well servicing through Eagle Well Servicing in Canada, and provides rental services through Aero Rental Services in Canada.

Position Summary

Reporting to the President and CEO, the Operations Manager, Production Services is responsible for leading and optimizing operations across Western Energy Services Corp’s Well Servicing and Rental Divisions (Eagle Well Servicing and Aero Rentals). This role focuses on driving operational excellence, ensuring safety compliance, and aligning synergies between the two service lines to maximize efficiency, resource utilization, and profitability. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in production services, excellent leadership abilities, strategic thinking and a results-driven approach.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•

Working closely with the President and CEO to ensure alignment with the company’s strategic goals and drive execution across both service lines.

•

Contribute to long-range operational planning, service line growth strategies, and performance improvement initiatives.

•

Lead and manage field operations, translating strategic goals into actionable plans across field operations for bother service lines.

•

Work closely with senior operations personnel to coordinate field activity, scheduling, and equipment readiness.

•

Ensure alignment and consistency in standards, processes, and reporting across both divisions.

•

Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and equipment used to support operational needs while minimizing downtime and redundancy.

•

Resolve operating problems and difficulties as they arise in the field or office, ensuring timely and practical solutions.

•

Authorize department-level operational procedures and practices in alignment with corporate standards, policies, and frameworks.

•

Drive corrective action plans and root cause analysis for recurring operational issues.

•

Identify and implement operational synergies to improve cross-divisional efficiency, including shared resources and support services.

•

Partner with Business Development peers to ensure seamless execution of projects, client satisfaction, and alignment between sales commitments and operational capabilities.

•

Support bid and pre-job planning activities with operational insights and resource planning.

•

Participate in customer meetings and debriefs to strengthen relationships and ensure service consistency.

•

Lead and mentor direct reports in their professional development.

•

Promote a unified, safety-focused culture with emphasis on performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.

•

Ensure full compliance with company HSE programs, client safety requirements, and regulatory standards.

•

Actively participate in incident investigations, implement corrective actions, and foster a proactive safety culture.

•

Oversee effective utilization and maintenance of equipment, assets, and workforce.

•

Monitor budgets, job costs, equipment downtime, and KPI performance.

•

Provide support and oversee a number of projects from an operational, financial and resource standpoint

•

Working closely with Finance, oversee Production Services’ budget process, establish timelines, provide support to the management teams and hold the management team accountable for results

•

Perform additional assignments or as required by the needs of the business, or as directed by the President.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

•

15+ years’ experience in the oilfield services industry with at least 5+ years in a responsible management capacity.

•

Demonstrated ability to lead a team and achieve results.

•

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Special Conditions of Employment

•

Frequent travel to operations sites / offices and client meetings.

•

Availability for after-hours on-call operations support.
