As an Operations Manager Yards, you will manage or support the management of daily operations across one or more of the District’s infrastructure systems—including combined, sanitary, and stormwater collection systems. Your leadership will directly impact the performance, safety, and reliability of our critical infrastructure.
Essential Functions:•Lead, coach, and develop staff to meet strategic goals and performance benchmarks.
•Plan, organize, and oversee the operational functions of a maintenance yard.
•Assign tasks and supervise work across multiple disciplines.
•Monitor team performance and support continuous improvement efforts.
•Ensure strict compliance with the District’s health and safety standards.
•Develop long-term maintenance schedules and prioritize infrastructure repair needs.
•Supervise engineering teams in responding to customer concerns and indentifying infrastructure repair and capital projects.
•Collaborate with contractors and consultants on design and construction activities.
•Engage with the public to resolve complaints and claims professionally.
•Assist in preparing and managing operational budgets throughout the fiscal year.
•Participate in the development and implementation of District policies and procedures.
•Coordinate training programs to build employee skills and safety awareness.
•Manage facility maintenance projects and the procurement of parts, tools, materials and services necessary for daily operations.

•Perform related duties as assigned by the manager to support departmental needs.
This position may require occasional work outside standard hours in response to operational needs. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS: Training & Experience:
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
•A minimum of four (4) years of experience in sewer system maintenance and/or construction
Desirable Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
•Strong knowledge of sanitary, stormwater, and combined sewer collection systems.
•Proficiency in operations, maintenance equipment and practices, and safety protocols.
•Experience supervising teams and managing performance in a public works environment.
•Familiarity with engineering design, project management, and capital improvement planning.
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with staff, public officials, and external partners.
•Skilled in managing resources, maintaining records, conducting research and investigations, and preparing detailed reports.
•Experience with CMOM (Capacity, Management, Operations, and Maintenance) program implementation is a plus.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
Must possess a valid driver's license issued by the state in which the employee resides.
