Job Overview Youngstown Pipe and Steel, a well-established & growing metals service center based in Youngstown Ohio has a great opportunity for an outside salesperson in our Northeast/Southeast Ohio territory. We are a supportive, team focused company where open communication, respect and camaraderie are paramount. Compensation is a combination of base salary + commission. We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Outside Sales Representative to join our dynamic sales team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales growth through direct engagement with clients. You will leverage your technical sales and expertise in the steel industry to attract and obtain new customers. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage relationships effectively while utilizing tools such system software, Microsoft Office and the inside sales team.

Responsibilities

•

Develop a profitable territory of new accounts through extensive relationship-based customer contact via cold calling and visits, referrals from existing customers, industry guides, trade shows and quotation follow up.

•

Foster and grow existing accounts to assess further potential.

•

Utilize technical knowledge of our software products to provide tailored solutions.

•

Engage in direct sales activities, including cold calling, networking, and attending industry events.

•

Daily travel

•

Manage the sales pipeline, tracking progress and forecasting future sales.

•

Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery post-sale.

•

Completion of weekly call reports and expense reports.

•

Company cell phone & laptop provided.

•

Working in the office is required periodically.

Qualifications

•

Proven experience in outside sales with a required 3 years of sales experience in the metals distribution or manufacturing industry.

•

A proven track record of relationship-based sales, territory building and strategic prospecting.

•

Must be driven, focused and adaptable.

•

Clean driving record. Monthly auto expense check provided

•

Ability to analyze market data and identify opportunities for upselling.

•

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on building rapport with clients.

•

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
