Position Overview and Purpose
The SVP of Sales & Marketing will be the architect and driver of our revenue growth strategy, responsible for aligning sales and marketing efforts with the company's broader strategic goals. This role requires a high-impact leader who blends data-driven decision-making with deep market insight and hands-on sales experience. The SVP will oversee the sales team, set clear sales targets, define KPIs, and ensure consistent performance reporting.
This is a leadership role for someone who can zoom out to see the big picture and zoom in to support tactical execution when needed — especially when coaching and driving accountability within the sales team.
Responsibilities
Revenue Growth & Strategic Planning
•Develop and execute a comprehensive sales and marketing strategy to drive consistent top-line revenue growth across all regions and customer segments.
•Identify emerging market opportunities, competitor movements, and changing customer needs to continuously fine-tune our approach.
•Work cross-functionally with operations, finance, and executive leadership to align revenue targets with operational capacity and financial objectives.
Sales Leadership & Team Development
•Lead, mentor, and coach a team of Business Development Managers and VP of Strategic Accounts across various territories.
•Establish clear performance targets, activity expectations, and metrics to ensure focus and accountability.
•Foster a high-energy, results-oriented culture that emphasizes proactive customer engagement, consultative selling, and effective pipeline management.
Analytics, Reporting & Performance Management
•Build and refine a structured sales reporting process that delivers clear, consistent insights into:
•Pipeline volume and velocity
•Market dynamics and competitive intelligence
•Revenue forecasting accuracy
•Translate data into actionable strategies, adjusting the go-to-market approach to maximize effectiveness and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
Marketing Alignment & Demand Generation
•Partner closely with marketing to ensure targeted lead generation, brand positioning, and content development directly supports sales priorities.
•Leverage digital marketing, trade shows, partnerships, and thought leadership to enhance market visibility and inbound lead flow.
•Ensure marketing campaigns are closely tracked and measured for ROI and lead quality.
Customer & Market Insight
•Maintain close contact with key customers, channel partners, and industry influencers to stay ahead of evolving needs and identify opportunities for deeper engagement.
•Capture and communicate voice of customer insights back into the business to inform product offerings, service enhancements, and pricing strategies.
Qualifications
Experience
•10+ years in industrial B2B sales leadership, preferably in power generation, equipment rental, or adjacent industries (energy services, heavy equipment, etc.)
•Proven track record of driving sustained revenue growth in a multi-regional environment.
•Experience managing and mentoring geographically distributed sales teams.
•Demonstrated ability to build scalable sales processes and playbooks.
•Hands-on experience in tactical sales — this role requires someone who has been “in the trenches” and knows what great tactical selling looks like.
