Join Our Team as a Construction Accounting Assistant!
Are you detail-oriented and passionate about keeping financial operations running smoothly? We are looking for a Construction Accounting Assistant to join our accounting team. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and enjoy problem-solving, this role is for you!
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable (AP):
•
Process invoices from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors—match purchase orders, code invoices to the correct job/cost code, obtain approvals, and enter data.
•
Prepare and process payments (checks, electronic transfers).
•
Reconcile vendor statements and ensure accuracy.
•
Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain clear AP records.
•
Assist with additional areas of accounting as needed.
Administrative Support:
•
Answer and direct phone calls professionally.
•
File and organize financial documents.
•
Prepare correspondence and reports.
What We’re Looking For
•
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
•
Experience: Previous experience in the construction industry is a plus.
•
Technical Skills:
•
Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
•
Strong data entry skills and attention to detail.
•
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
•
Soft Skills:
•
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
•
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•
Ability to work independently and within a team.
•
Problem-solving skills and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial data.
•
Accuracy and attention to detail are crucial.
•
Additional Requirement: Must be able to pass a drug test.
