The primary function of the Dispatcher is to dispatch Service Technicians and/or Construction Crews daily for customer needs. Position requires having a strong understanding of the geographical areas, great communication, problem solving skills and attention to detail. This is a non-exempt position reporting to the Office Manager.
Must work well under pressure and pay attention to detail.
Attention to data entry, updating information in a timely manner throughout the day.
Continuous communication with Service Technicians and/or Construction Crews to provide optimal routing.
Technical support; providing directions, changes in scheduling, etc.
Regularly communicate with your manager relative to team productivity and efficiency for the purpose of recommending discipline, training, promotions, and terminations.
Monitor where all drivers are throughout the day. Be able to provide accurate ETA information upon request.
Required to be on-call, on a rotational basis, to cover emergency service requests.
Collect and review related paperwork and notes for completeness.
Perform general office tasks. (Faxing, scanning, typing, filing, etc.)
Able to handle high stress situations and frequent interruptions.
Operate in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Regular and reliable attendance and presence at work.
Demonstrate professionalism, be courteous and always be friendly to customers and co-workers.
Regular interaction with peers on-site, including face-to-face meetings and spontaneous meetings.
Follow company quality, safety, and environmental guidelines as well as Employee Handbook policies.
Proven ability to develop creative solutions accurately and quickly.
Proficient using Microsoft Word and Excel and able to learn software for data entry and reports.
Must have attention to detail, planning and organizational skills.
Versatile and willing to adapt to a situation.
Communicate well through emails, over the phone, or face-to-face.
Attention to detail including follow up and follow through.
