RES Coal LLC is looking for a full-time heavy equipment operator (HEO) that has specialized experience in blasthole drilling. This position will work in a field setting at our active surface mines, which are currently located in Clearfield, Cambria, Centre, Blair, and Armstrong County.
The HEO will report to their assigned site daily and be responsible for working with foreman to layout shot pattern and safely and efficiently drill shot patterns. As well as light maintenance and housekeeping of their equipment. The successful candidate must have or quickly attain a CDL B license to be able to move the truck mounted drill from one operation to the next. We also have track mounted drills, but our drillers need to be able to run both types. During times of extended maintenance or as other company needs arise the HEO will be tasked with safely operating our other equipment which generally includes:
· Ability to work swing shifts, and ten-hour shifts
· Five years’ experience as an equipment operator
· Ability to work alone safely, and efficiently
· Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures in English
· Practical coal mining experience as a blasthole driller
· Understanding of surface mining operations and equipment
Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
Work is performed in a mine or plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, and work on elevated platforms
May be required to work extended shifts or weekends
Company provided personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required
