About this Role:

Probst Electric is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator with Lo-Drill experience to help build high-voltage powerline around the country. Your first assignment will be in New Mexico, but subsequent assignments will require nationwide travel.

What You'll Do:

Learn and follow safety regulations
Take actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, or falling objects
Start engines, move throttles, switches, or levers, or depress pedals to operate machines, such as track hoes, backhoes, forklifts, skid steers, etc.
Load and move dirt, rocks, equipment, or other materials, using trucks, crawler tractors, shovels, graders, or related equipment.
Drive and maneuver equipment equipped with blades in successive passes over working areas to remove topsoil, vegetation, or rocks or to distribute and level earth or terrain
Excavate and drill holes
Right of Way clearing and reclamation
Direct and teach laborers and ground men
Greases, oils, and performs minor repairs on equipment, using a grease gun, oilcans, and hand tools
Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards
Read and interpret plans, instructions, and specifications to determine work activities
Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones
Measure, mark, and record openings and distances to layout areas where construction work will be performed
Perform other related duties as assigned

What You'll Bring:

Three to five years of experience in heavy equipment operation
Lo-Drill experience strongly preferred
Loader and Forklift experience
Valid Commercial Driver License
Valid DOT Medical Certification
Experience digging around existing utilities
Travel required for continued employment
Pass pre-employment and other drug screenings
Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Compliance with OSHA and other Federal, State, and local safety regulations
