Mac Chain is seeking a motivated and experienced, Red Seal Millwright (Industrial Mechanic) to join our maintenance team. In this position, the ideal candidate will provide our manufacturing plant with a high level of maintenance expertise that will ensure that our company objectives are supported; maintenance goals are efficiently and effectively met.
Job responsibilities:
•
Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform immediate repairs on shop machinery
•
Overhaul and install new equipment
•
Perform routine and preventative maintenance work on all machinery
•
Schedule critical and non-critical activities effectively for preventative maintenance program with operations manager
•
Perform equipment change-over’s and production line set up
•
Fabrication- must be able to take a project from concept to build without assistance of others
•
Operate manual or semi-automatic welding and flame-cutting equipment
•
Possess basic use of electrical measuring and testing devices
•
Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications
•
Conduct repairs, modifications and retrofits or shop equipment
•
Have or quickly come to acquire a good working knowledge of all shop equipment in a timely fashion
•
General housekeeping- maintain tools, shop area and parts storage in good working order
•
Perform other duties as necessary
Qualifications:
•
Mechanically inclined and have manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers
•
Experience with routine maintenance operations
•
Welding experience is a definite plus
•
Ability to understand hydraulics and pneumatics a definite asset
•
Ability to read, write and comprehend English
•
Have a success-driven and “can do” attitude
•
Be able to work independently and in a team environment
•
Have a good attendance and safety record
•
Positive attitude and willingness to perform other duties as required
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $38.00-$42.49 per hour
