Materials Technician – Shoreline Aggregates Inc.

Location: Port Rousse - Pine Cove Mine Site Department: Quality Assurance/Quality Control Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off


About Us:

Shoreline Aggregates Inc. is looking for a Materials Technician to join our team. Reporting to the QA/QC Manager, this role involves field sampling, laboratory testing, equipment calibration, and data entry to ensure compliance with quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:


Perform laboratory testing, including:

Sampling aggregates
Sieve analysis of fine and coarse aggregates
Specific gravity and absorption tests
Los Angeles Abrasion testing
Bulk density (unit weight) and voids in aggregate testing
Material finer than 75µm (No. 200) sieve analysis by washing
Total evaporable moisture content testing
Flat and elongated particle testing
Maintain accurate records and enter data using Microsoft Excel
Ensure laboratory equipment is calibrated and maintained
Follow Shoreline Aggregates Inc. safety and quality procedures
Keep the laboratory clean and organized
Prepare and label samples for shipment
Assist with quality control checks to meet specifications


Qualifications & Skills:

Experience in materials testing or a related field is beneficial but not required
Post-secondary education in a relevant field is an advantage
Must obtain ACI Aggregate Testing Technician – Level 1 Certification (training provided)
Strong mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is helpful
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
Willing to work a 7-day on, 7-day off rotational schedule and overtime when needed
Valid Class 5 driver’s license required
CSA-approved safety boots required for fieldwork
