Job Summary

Seeking a Senior Offshore Process Safety Engineer with 10+ years of experience (preferably 20+) in offshore capital projects (FEED/EPC) for fixed platforms, semi-submersibles, and FPSOs. Responsibilities include leading process safety teams, facilitating HAZID/HAZOP/LOPA/SIL reviews, dispersion consequence modeling (PHAST), and plot plan safety assessments. Preferred candidates have experience with FERC requirements and working with third parties on specialized safety studies.


Job Description

Under broad direction, supervises and leads a group of engineers.
Sets the technical standards and procedures of a group of engineers and designers.
Job role is responsible for a measurable asset such as an assigned staff and budget.
Company is looking for a Process Safety Engineer to help support large capital projects for Offshore applications.
This position has lead responsibility over a group of process safety engineers or functions as a technical specialist who develops and applies advanced process safety engineering concepts for offshore projects, such as fixed structure platform, semi-submersible, FPSO.
This position requires minimal supervision to accomplish tasks.
This individual also has a firm understanding of Building Siting Studies / QRA's.


Skills Required

Skill set should include experience supporting the following activities: facilitate process safety reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL), dispersion consequence modelling (using PHAST), plot plan safety reviews.
Experience on offshore capital projects (FEED and/or EPC) performing Safety Engineering functions is preferred.
Exposure to and experience with FERC requirements, clarifications, and reviews associated with Safety Engineering related to capital projects is preferred.
Must have experience working with 3rd parties in supporting the development of specialty process safety related studies.
Normally requires a minimum of 10 years of experience, but individuals typically possess 20+ years of experience and a relevant engineering degree.


Education/Training/Certifications

Skills are typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in Engineering and a minimum of 10 years related experience, with average experience of 20+ years.


Additional Requirements

This role is expected to have periodic visits to Metairie, Louisiana.
