Job Description:

As an IT Application Administrator, you will be responsible for the support, maintenance, and optimization of business-critical applications. You will work closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure smooth operation, resolve issues, and ensure the performance of applications. Your expertise in ITIL processes, programming, and database management will be essential in streamlining application support workflows and enhancing service delivery.


Key Responsibilities:

Provide application support, troubleshooting, and incident resolution for a variety of business applications.
Work with third-party vendors and service providers to ensure SLAs (Service Level Agreements) are met.
Coordinate application upgrades, patches, and system configurations in collaboration with relevant teams.
Apply ITIL practices to manage the incident, change, and problem management processes, ensuring timely resolutions and proper documentation.
Assist with the management of software lifecycle processes, including application deployment, testing, and retirement.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements for application changes and improvements.
Perform root cause analysis and resolution for recurring issues related to application performance and vendor-delivered services.
Support the integration of applications with other business systems, ensuring seamless data flow and performance.
Provide training and documentation to users on new applications or changes to existing ones.
Maintain accurate records and reports on application performance, issues, and resolutions.
Ensure compliance with internal IT policies and industry standards for application management.


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as an IT Application Administrator or similar role with a focus on application support and vendor management.
Strong understanding and hands-on experience with ITIL best practices and processes (ITIL Foundation certification preferred).
Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or .NET for troubleshooting and scripting purposes.
Solid understanding of database management systems, including SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL, with the ability to query and manage data.
Experience in managing vendor relationships, including contract negotiation, performance tracking, and issue resolution.
Proficiency in managing service management platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy) for incident tracking, change management, and reporting.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver effective solutions.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.


Preferred Skills (Optional):

ITIL certification
Experience with cloud-based applications and SaaS platforms.
Familiarity with automation tools for application monitoring and support processes.
Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices related to application management.
Familiarity with application performance monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic, AppDynamics).
