Job Overview
•Excellent communication and negotiation skills to oversee customer account management processes and coordinate with the Sales team (field Sales and internal Sales leadership).
•Implementing credit and collection practices shared by the Credit Director and fellow Division Credit Managers to support the Company’s objective of having a “best in class” credit organization.
•Analyzing and approving customer requests for trade credit and payment terms along with managing the trade A/R collection process for a receivable portfolio of $150M+ in the construction and/or construction materials industries.
•Ability to drive performance improvement in the Collection Effectiveness Index (CEI).
•Thorough knowledge of the requirements and operational issues surrounding Texas mechanic’s lien law to protect the Company’s interest in its customer receivables, along with experience managing the mechanic’s lien process (required notices, claims, etc.).
•Management experience leading a large credit and collections team. The successful candidate must be proficient in the communication, organization, training, and motivation of a team of collection professionals. Prior experience with a multiple level staff is a plus.
•Proficiency and comfort with daily interactions with collection staff, customers, finance, and sales leadership while at the same time having the flexibility to develop the best overall result for the Division and/or Company.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or related discipline
•10+ years of credit and collection management experience.
•5+ years of experience managing a large team of collection professionals in a high-volume environment.
•5+ years of experience leading a team complying with Texas mechanic’s lien law requirements.
•Must have excellent people skills and ability to work in a team environment..
