Job Title: Accounting & Payroll Manager

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Accounting & Payroll Manager to oversee and manage the accounting operations within our company. The Accounting & Payroll Manager will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records, reporting, and compliance with industry regulations and company policies. This role requires strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and familiarity with the unique aspects of the oil and gas industry.
Key Responsibilities:
•Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
•Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage accounting staff to ensure the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.
•Expense Management: Manage the expense reimbursement process and ensure employees provide accurate and timely receipts and reconciliation of fuel or credit cards.
•Project Invoicing: Gather time and expense allocations and accurately prepare project invoices for state, federal and private contracts.
•Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist the Controller to develop annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor financial performance and provide regular updates.
•Compliance & Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations and industry-specific standards. Develop and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
•Revenue & Cost Accounting: Oversee the accurate recognition of revenue and expenses related to oil and gas service contracts. Manage cost allocation, tracking, and reporting related to projects and service operations.
•Payroll Audit Coordination: Coordinate and liaise with external auditors during annual audits, ensuring the accuracy of payroll records and compliance with state and federal prevailing wage laws.
•Tax Reporting: Assist with the timely and accurate filing of federal, state, and local taxes. Work closely with external tax advisors to ensure compliance.
•Systems & Process Improvement: Review and streamline accounting processes to enhance efficiency, improve controls, and reduce errors. Suggest system enhancements or new technologies to better meet company needs.
•Financial Statement Review: Monitor account reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
•Industry Knowledge: Stay informed of industry trends, including changes in regulations, prevailing wage laws, tax laws, and accounting standards that could affect financial reporting.
Qualifications & Skills:
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
•Minimum of 7 - 10 years of experience in accounting.
•Strong understanding of oil and gas industry accounting practices.
•Proficiency in accounting software, QuickBooks, Stampli etc. and advanced MS Excel skills, Paylocity
•Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
•Knowledge of federal and state tax laws.
•Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
•Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
