About This Job

The Retail Accounting Manager is responsible for the management of the retail accounting team and analysis of retail financial results. Duties will include the reconciliation of certain complex accounts, problem solving of retail paperwork, and serving as a resource to retail operations leadership. The Retail Accounting Manager is also responsible for performing financial analysis and research on operating results. The Retail Accounting Manager works closely with the Corporate Controller and Assistant Controller in developing new projects and reports directly to the Assistant Controller.

Responsibilities

•

Perform financial analysis on specific projects as directed by the Corporate Controller or Assistant Controller.

•

Serve as a point of contact for the Retail Operations leadership team to field questions and perform analysis as requested.

•

Perform daily reviews of store paperwork and reconcile complex financial accounts.

•

Create journal entries and assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements.

•

Oversee timely and accurate filing of monthly sales and use taxes for several states.

•

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

•

Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting is required. CPA preferred.

•

Ability to supervise a team.

•

Ability to analyze operating results, research discrepancies, and effectively report findings.

•

Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.

•

Strong organizational and time management skills.

•

Clear and effective process documentation skills.

•

Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
