Accounting Manager

At Louisiana Energy and Power Authority (LEPA), our mission is to provide firm, reliable, and economical wholesale power and energy to Louisiana municipalities. We are searching for an experienced accountant to facilitate our accounting functions and lead our dedicated team. As an integral part of the joint-action agency, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth, accurate, and efficient operations contributing to our ongoing commitment of excellence and service to LEPA’s twenty member cities.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise Staff: Oversee accounting department staff and activities.

Budget Management: Prepare and monitor annual budgets. Provide monthly budget updates to management.

Governmental and Utility Accounting: Apply principles, methods, and regulations regarding governmental monies.

Financial Statements: Prepare, review, and interpret monthly and annual reports.

Invoices: Reconcile weekly invoices and generate/review monthly invoices to LEPA member cities.

Audits: Prepare annual audit schedules and cooperate with external auditors.

Communication: Confer with member city accounting personnel.

Ideal Candidate

Education: Accounting degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience: Minimum of five years in accounting and supervising staff.

Skills: Proficiency in Excel and Sage.

Certification: CPA certification is a plus.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
