Key Position Functions Include
•Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
•Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close
•Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information
•Assist the Controller in the daily banking requirements
•Respond to inquiries from the Controller and others regarding financial results, meeting input and special requests
•Ensure the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions
•Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
•Advises staff regarding the handling on non-routine reporting transactions
•Responds to inquiries from the Controller regarding financials results, special requests, etc.
•Work with the Controller to ensure a clean and timely year end audit
•Comply with Federal and State requirements, ensuring required statutory and regulatory registrations are in place and filing returns and financial reports.
•Continually strive to optimize taxation exposure
•Supervise the general ledger group to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
•Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department
Preferred Candidates Will Possess a Combination Of The Following
•BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting, CPA preferred
•8 to 10 years prior supervisory experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area
•Manufacturing and Cost Accounting experience preferred.
•Superior Excel skills, strong knowledge of MS Office
•Familiarity with US GAAP or IFRS
•ERP/SAP experience would be considered an asset
•Strong organizational skills with ability to maintain absolute confidentiality
•Strong leadership and interpersonal skills - ability to create accountability and commitment towards achieving positive results
