We are currently looking for a Manager, Complianceto join our Corporate Legal team in a Permanent position. Reporting to the Director Legal, you will be responsible for monitoring the Company’s compliance with legal and regulatory requirements including reporting.

Key elements of this role include::

As a Manager, Compliance you will be:

Identify, capture, and manage the inventory of applicable corporate compliance obligations.
Manage the ethics and compliance risk management program.
Supervise the drafting and approval of compliance policies and procedures.
Guide the establishment of corporate compliance performance objectives, targets, and programs.
Develop and implement key operational controls to prevent, detect, and correct compliance incidents and other non-compliance events.
Facilitate corporate compliance training and communications plans.
Ensure appropriate and timely communication to both internal and external stakeholders on relevant compliance-related matters.
Organize, maintain, and control applicable compliance-related documentation.
Ensuring the protection of the organization’s interests are in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Ensure all reportable compliance incidents and / or other non-compliance events are properly reported consistent with applicable regulatory mandates; and other duties as assigned.

You will be responsible for personal safety, that of co-workers, and those under your direction by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. You will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environment management system processes and initiatives. You recognize yourself in most of the following competencies, and where possible possess the skills and experience listed below:

Must possess a University Degree in Business, Law or a related discipline from a recognized university.
A minimum of 7 years related experience.
Comprehend risk and compliance concepts, practices, and procedures within a highly regulated environment.
Actively manage multiple, concurrent projects and deliverables.
Ability to assess performance data and develop compliance and business improvement strategies based on this knowledge.
Persuade and negotiate effectively, both internally and externally.
Excellent leadership, time management and presentation skills.
Experience working for a regulated entity would be considered an asset.

You will have the ability to communicate in an effective and non-technical manner, have exceptional organizational skills and be able to work both independently and in a team environment. You are a proactive team player with excellent interpersonal skills and have a keen interest in becoming involved in the Company’s business strategy. Occasional travel will be required for this role.
