Job Description:
The Manager - Water Management will be responsible for site technical oversight/support in the areas of water use planning and management, water infrastructure design and operation, dewatering/hydrogeology, and site-wide water balance modelling. Support will be inclusive of all stages of asset development from early studies through operations and closure. The role will also be responsible for cross-functional support for other corporate technical and business functions, development and administration of SSR’s water management system, water modeling, and design review/support.
This role will be critical in providing strategic guidance as a trusted advisor to site personnel responsible for water management. In addition, the role will assist the Director - Water Management in supporting the accountabilities of the technical services team:* Serve as custodians of the ore bodies – support long-range planning efforts to understand water and tailings constraints and risks;The Day to Day:* Advise and support site personnel responsible for water management: + Identify and address water issues that could be a constraint or imminent risk for the business + Identify and implement improvements to water management that create tangible value + Identify and mitigate long-term water risks + Help to build site teams and capability for effective execution of site water operations. + Establish positive working relationships with sites and maintain regular contact

Development and administration of SSR’s water management system*: + Assist with development/rollout of SSR Water Management System + Updating of other water-related standards, strategies, and policies + Business as usual annual site visits and interactionsIs This You? Minimum qualifications* + Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, Geoscience, or related field from an accredited university + 10+ years’ experience in mine water management, engineering design, and project management Required experience* + On-the-ground experience with mine water infrastructure including construction, operation, monitoring, and troubleshooting + Experience with planning and managing mine dewatering programs + Experience performing groundwater modelling and/or water and mass balance modelling (GoldSim) for mine water management Required knowledge & skills* + Strong understanding of water volume and quality issues within the mining industry + Understanding of tailings management and ARD/ML as they pertain to overall mine water system management + Ability to handle both big picture/strategic and detailed/technical duties + Ability to manage third-party service providers to ensure high deliverable quality and alignment with SSR’s standards + Ability to manage by influence and comfortable working with remote teams + Comfortable working on international projects and with colleagues who speak English as a second language + Willing and available to accommodate intermittent global travel + Strong organizational and time management skills Additional desirable knowledge/experience* + Water quality sampling, interpretation, and modelling + Water treatment technologies and operations + Data processing/scripting + Mine closure and reclamation + Water accounting frameworks and water stewardship + Management systems, standards, and auditing
For applicants residing in CO, the salary range for this role is from $150-$165,000. Benefits: 401(k); medical/dental/vision insurance; employee share purchase plan, PTO, and STI.
