Job Summary


The Production Manager oversees the day-to-day activities of the manufacturing department. Ensures products are manufactured effectively, accurately, safely, and timely, meeting applicable standards and requirements set forth through the Company and International Organization of Standardization (ISO 9000/9001/9004).



Primary Duties and Responsibilities


Collaborates with other managers and supervisors to coordinate activities in and among departments
Create schedules, estimate costs, and prepare budgets
Responsible for department schedule to include workstation assignments and rotation, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignments, back-up for absent employees, and department rotations.
Collects, evaluates, analyzes, and assesses production data.
Monitor and improve the efficiency of activities, materials, and staff resources
Regularly inspects and evaluates products for quality and defects.
Support, guide, and motivate production staff
Identifies and corrects problems and inefficiencies in processes, materials, equipment, or skills.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices including those related to safety and health.
Develops and implements procedures and strategies to ensure a safe work environment.
Help conduct inspection checks.
Maintains 5S controls of facility and workstations.
Maintains project management and communication coordination that affects production.
Must consistently demonstrate the ability to independently produce positive business outcomes aligned with organizational strategic initiatives and goals to include ISO standards.
Must perform the job in a safe manner and ensure a safe workplace, including reporting unsafe work conditions and safety violations.

Qualifications - Required Ex

Thorough understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost management, and other effective manufacturing techniques.
Ability to communicate and respond to questions professionally and knowledgeably; multi-task and remain detailed and organized; always maintain confidentiality.
Consistently demonstrate strong critical thinking skills, task-level judgments/decisions, and a creative approach for generating innovative ideas with the principles of continuous improvement.
Ability to follow specific instructions and adhere to safety guidelines; conduct safety and work task plans; recognize and correct job site hazards
Must have valid state-issued Driver’s License as required to drive on company business.


Education and Experience

High school diploma required, Associate Degree and/or technical training preferred; OSHA and Safety certifications required; ISO 9000/9001/9904 experience and working knowledge preferred. Experience may be substituted for education requirements on a 1:1 basis.
Minimum two (2) years of manufacturing experience preferred.
At least three years of supervisory experience is preferred.
